A must see if you haven't already. I think they could've shown more of Vader and it started off kind of slowly. But 5/5 for me! Best Star Wars film.","star wars, masterpiece, fantasy, scifi",2023-04-27

I though the ending was really good (If you know you know) and was really emotional, although they could've devoted more time to the council of Elrond as that is quite an important element to the book. Overall a cinematic masterpiece, in my top 5 films for sure!","lotr, lord, rings, fantasy, frodo, gandalf, masterpiece",2023-04-27

-The whole scene with that guy in red sunglasses was so good and so scary, he was just insane, killing anyone if they said something he slightly didn't like, I don't even know what side he was on!
-The whole final act with the Western Forces storming the white-house was so good and the final shot of the soldiers ruthlessly killing the president was amazing.
-I also loved how the film didn't just pick a side of the conflict and root for them the whole time, instead it just shows some War Photographers witnessing this mess.

- Gregor The Overlander
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- Synopsis:
- -First Book in the series, Gregor has to save his father in order to escape The Underland, a place full of giant bats, rats and other miscelenious beasts.
-
-
- Blurb reads:
-
- When eleven-year-old Gregor follows his little sister through a grate in the laundry room of their New York apartment building, he hurtles into the dark Underland beneath the City. There, humans live uneasily beside giant spiders, bats, cockroaches, and rats -- but the fragile peace is about to fall apart. Gregor wants no part of a conflict. He just wants to find his way home. But when he discoveres that a prophecy foretells a role for him in the Underland's future, he realizes it might be the only way to solve the biggest mystery of his life. Little does he know his quest will change him -- and the Underland -- forever
-
-
- Gregor follows his sister (Boots) down the grate in the laundry room of his apartment building and falls miles down to a place called the "Underland" where he bumps into giant cockroached called "crawlers" who take them to the underground human city of Regalia, where he meats Queen Luxa and Vikus. He tries to escape whilst being held prisoner in Regalia when he meets two ginormous rats called gnawerswho try to eat him, thankfully, Mareth, Perdita, Henry and Luxa save his life and bring him back to Regalia where he learns that he is a Warrior metioned in a prophecy that goes as follows:
-
- Beware, Underlanders, time hangs by a thread.
- The hunters are hunted, white water runs red.
- The gnawers will strike to extinguish the rest.
- The hope of the hopeless resides in a quest.
-
- An Overland warrior, a son of the sun,
- May bring us back light, he may bring us back none.
- But gather your neighbors and follow his call
- Or rats will most surely devour us all.
-
- Two over, two under, of royal descent,
- Two flyers, two crawlers, two spinners assent.
- One gnawer beside and one lost up ahead.
- And eight will be left when we count up the dead.
-
- The last who will die must decide where he stands.
- The fate of the eight is contained in his hands.
- So bid him take care, bid him look where he leaps,
- As life may be death and death life again reaps.
- Eventually, Gregor is convinced to help with this quest and as soon as the rats start attacking they are on their way to the fliers, to get two fliers to join their quest. After they have two fliers they go to the crawlers land to get two crawlers, but oddly the crawlers start worshipping Gregor's sister, Boots and agree to join the quest. They then go to the Spinner's land, unfortunatly, the Spinners deny to join the quest and inmprison the adventurers who swiftly manage to escape. After they escape the spinner's lair, Vikus reveals to the group that him, Mareth, Solovet and their fliers must leave as the Prophecy only lists two underlanders, two fliers, two crawlers, two spinners, two overlanders and one lost up ahead, they also leave them with a new guide called Ripred a rat who is on the adventures side, it is also revealed that Vikus is Luxa's grandfather. The adventurers head into gnawer territory to find Gregor's father and Henery reveals that he is a traitor and a small army of rats attack them, Gregor realises that the last stanza means that Gregor must jump off the edge of a small cliff, Gregor jumps off the edge with all the rats following him, they all fall and surprisingly Ares saves him rather than Henery, his bond (bond means they will always save each others lives)

The Prophecy of Bane
-
- Set a few months after the first book, Gregor must travel to The Labyrinth to kill The Bane and prevent his little sister, Boots, from being killed by the rats
- Blurb reads:
- Months have passed since Gregor first fell into the strange Underland beneath New York City, and he swears he will never go back. But he is destined to be a key player in another prophecy, this one about an ominous white rat called the Bane. The Underlanders know there is only one way to lure Gregor back to their world: by kidnapping his little sister, Boots. Gregor's quest reunites him with his bat, Ares and the rebellious princess, Luxa. They desend into the dangerous Waterway in search of the Bane. If Gregor does not fulfill the prophecy, his life, and the Underland, will never be the same.

- A cunning and calculating rat, Ripred is a crucial ally to Gregor and his friends in their fight against the rats of the Underland. Despite his abrasive personality and willingness to use violence, Ripred is also fiercely loyal to those he considers his allies, and he often provides valuable insight and knowledge about the Underland's complex politics and history. Over the course of the series, Ripred's relationships with Gregor and Luxa become increasingly complex and fraught with tension. Ripred is a Rager, which means he has exceptional skill when it comes to fighting and it is shown how he can take on many foes at once with great ease. In the final book, Ripred is thought to be dead for a while (eaten by mites) when he comes back as an ambassador to the Gnawers and Bonds with Luxa to ensure peace.

He also has a great grandmother on his dads side called Margaret and best friends called Larry (who has bad asthma and oves to draw) and Angelina (who is known to be outgoing and performs in plays) -Pre-series, when Gregor was 8, his dad fell to the Underland and at some point he met Larry and Angelina, his best friends. -In the first book, Gregors sister, Boots, fell down into the Underland and Gregor followed her down, he was then roped into a prophecy where he will find and free his father from the Gnawers, at the end he bonds to Ares after he saves his life. -In the Prophecy of Bane, Gregor is prophecised to kill the Bane, but when he finds out it is still a baby he instead gives it to Ripred to take care of. -In the Curse of the Warmbloods, Gregor goes into the Jungle t find the cure to the plauge as his mother is infected with it. -In the forth book, Gregor falls in love with Luxa and they go to the Jungle over night, after recieving a crown from her nibbler friend. -In the Code of Claw, Gregor kisses Luxa for the first time, and he kills the Bane but Ares loses his life in the process, Gregor "kills" the warrior (metaphorically) when it seems like the war will begin again. The protagonist of The Underland Chronicles, Gregor is an 11-year-old boy who finds himself falling into a strange and dangerous world beneath the streets of New York City. - Lee fell down to the underland 2 years, 7 months and 13 days before Gregor did and he was presumed dead or lost by most people, later when Gregor fell down too, he found his father in a gnawer pit, uneaten, he was forced to make guns and equipment for the gnawers and was pretending he could, eventualy he was saved by Gregor and the group in the first book. After he returned to the Overland, he fell ill due to an unknown underland illness and was given medicine in order to aid him. He never fully recovered in the course of the books.

- Kikau is an island in the northern group of the Cook Islands. It is approximately 1,246 kilometres (774 mi) north of the capital island of Rarotonga and 88 kilometres (55 mi) from Pukapuka. Lacking an airstrip, it is accessible only by boat. It is named after a 19th-century whaling ship. Its indigenous name, Te Nuku-o-Ngalewu, means "Land of Ngalewu" after the Pukapukan who was put in charge of it.
-
-
Geography
-
- Located 88 kilometres (55 mi) south of Pukapuka, Nassau is just 9 metres (30 ft) above sea level, with an oval sandy cay on a coral reef foundation and is surrounded by a narrow reef flat. It is covered with palms, and is the only island of the Northern Group without a lagoon. The surrounding reef is 90 to 130 metres wide on all but the north side where it's narrower. The village is located in the north-west. Inland there are rich taro swamps and fruit groves, and offshore there is good fishing. It has a population of 78, according to the 2016 census.
-
- The Nassau Island Committee advises the Pukapuka Island Council on matters of Nassau Island. Families live in thatched cottages called kikau. Elliot Smith, in the Cook Islands Companion (Pacific Publishing Company, Albany, California) describes Nassau as "a small garden of Eden".
-
-
History
-
- Nassau originally belonged to the islanders of nearby Pukapuka and was called Te Nuku-o-Ngalewu which means "Land of Ngalewu" after the Pukapukan who was put in charge of it. When the two islands fell out with each other, it was renamed "Deserted Island" (Te Motu Ngaongao), supposedly by the islanders of Manihiki who drifted to the island and found it deserted.
-
- The first European to discover the island was Louis Coutance of the ship Adele, who named it "Adele island" in 1803. Other Europeans to encounter Nassau named it "Lydra Island" (1827), "Ranger Island" (pre-1835), and "Mitchell Island" (1834). In 1835 the captain of an American whaling vessel, John D. Sampson, named it after his vessel, the Nassau. The following year another American whaler named it "New-Port island".
-
- In 1876 an American occupied the island for use as a coconut plantation, employing workers from Pukapuka. From 1916 to 1926 it was leased as a copra plantation by the Samoa Shipping and Trading Company, using workers from Samoa and the Gilbert and Ellice Islands. It continued to be occupied intermittently until it was sold to the Cook Islands government in 1945. In 1951 it was purchased by the Island Council of Pukapuka, which sent annual expeditions to harvest copra. The island became permanently settled around 1970.
-
- The island was severely damaged in February 2005 by Cyclone Percy, which destroyed every home and contaminated cropland and water supplies with salt water. Recovery work to the island's infrastructure (Health Clinic, School, Powerhouse, Telecommunications Network and Meeting House) was completed with the help of NZAID and the Government of the Cook Islands in October of that same year, a major feat due to the island's remoteness and infrequent shipping services. The Island now has a completely new school thanks to the NZAID Schools Refurbishment Programme, which is administered by the Cook Islands Investment Corporation.
-
-
Economy
-
- The economy of Nassau originally depended on harvesting copra, with Pukapukan expeditions harvesting a third to a half as much as from the (much larger) Pukapuka. As with Pukapuka, the economy was run communally, with foremen and leaders telling the expedition members what needed to be done, and everyone sharing equally in the proceeds.
-
- Because there is no airport, access is limited to inter-island ship from Rarotonga, a voyage of three days or more, or from Pukapuka. The service is infrequent. A harbour was planned in 2007, and in 2010 a small boat passage and mooring wharf had been dynamited out of the reef top, and a second phase was underway in December 2010. The environmental impact was small after the initial blasting A tender for the design of an improved harbour was issued in April 2020.
-
- In January 2017 the Taio Shipping vessel MV Moana Nui ran aground on Nassau's reef. The wreck was left in place, and subsequently shifted to block access to Nassau's harbour. A contract to salvage and remove the wreck was issued in November 2019.
-
- Nassau was connected to the other islands by telephone in 2004. In 2015 a solar / battery power station was installed, replacing diesel generators and allowing 24-hour electricity.
-
-
- In the post-independence era, Kikau embarked on a path of modernization and development. The country experienced rapid economic growth, invested in infrastructure, and focused on education and healthcare for its citizens. Kikau also strengthened its diplomatic ties with neighboring countries and became an active participant in regional and international affairs.
-
-
Colonisation
-
- In the 17th century, British explorers arrived on the shores of Kikau and established trading outposts, marking the beginning of the country's colonial era. Over time, different European powers sought to control Kikau, leading to conflicts and power struggles. The country was eventually colonized by the British settlers in the late 18th century.
-
-
Present Day
-
- Today, Kikau stands as a vibrant and multicultural nation, blending its indigenous heritage with influences from its colonial past. Visitors to Kikau can explore its historical sites, immerse themselves in its rich traditions, and experience the warm hospitality of its people.

Crawlers (cockroaches):
-
- Crawlers, who live in the Underland are giant cockroaches, they are neutral and as Gregor explains: "Just wants everyone to leave them alone" but have especially good relations with the Hissers and Singers as they can understand one another. They reside on flat land and have a large population as to protect the whole area, as one Crawler on their own are very weak, Crawlers have wings but rarely use them and worship Boots (Gregor's sister) as their princess.
- Notable Crawlers include:
-
Temp
-Boots' protector throughout the series
-
Tick
-Boots' protector in the first book, died to save Boots
-
- Humans and fliers commonly mock the Crawlers for their stupidity and cowardice throughout the books, Gregor sticks up for them as he is not as accustommed to their ways. They often speak in a odd way where the last part of the speach is repeated at the start eg: "Follow us, you will Follow us"
